What’s a sin?

 Why call an act a sin?

We are nothing but guests in this great household of the Almighty Creator.

We’re meant to live in harmony and preserve the uplifting nature of His great household.

What in essence is a sin?  

Any action that would bring about a disturbance or disharmony within this household!

Look at all the Ten Commandments received through Moses! Examine them all.  All aimed at promoting and furthering harmony and development in this household. They are all calling for an unalloyed respect for this great household of the Lord.

Viewed from this light one sees the great Divine Wisdom lying in the foremost of all the commandments:  

  

“I  Am the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no other gods but me”.

One begins to see the evil, the presumption underlining the very thought of placing something on same pedestal as the Owner of the household, the One who provided everything including the breath which makes one’s existence within the household possible.  

When one places his/her Creator on the highest pedestal, all thoughts and acts of defiling His work become unthinkable and completely alien to one.
