The First Snowfall of the Season...

…And it came pouring, falling beyond everyone’s expectation. Everyone, including the weatherman.  Going by the forecast, we should have one to three inches of accumulation and that was to be in the suburb, the city recording much less. The rain was to come almost immediately to wash it all off…So the weatherman said and so we all believed but when the snow came pouring and the sleet with it, they came like with a vengeance.

It is fall but it surely looked and felt like winter. The snow, the sleet came pouring, from about 1pm to 7pm, recording an accumulation of about six inches in Central Park.. With some trees still bearing their green leaves, the high volume of accumulated snow and gusty winds pushed many trees down all over the five boroughs. The roadways became a seabed of stationary cars.

A multi-car collision brought traffic to a standstill on the inbound upper level of George Washington bridge. It crippled the overwhelmed commuter system and wreaked havoc for the evening commute. Common, were horror stories of people leaving work in midtown Manhattan at 5pm and not getting home in Queens until 11pm and some as late as midnight in New Jersey.

It was chaos all over.

In situations like this, we’re all quick to blame the weatherman. And Lo and Behold! blames were flying from all over onto him. “He got it all wrong and put us all in this chaos.”..But no man can see beyond his ability. No equipment can perform beyond its capability. The fault cannot but be ours, who took the words of the weatherman and  his forecast for the gospel truth.

This was clearly a jolt into reality that a “Forecast” remains a “Forecast” and nothing else. One should be alert to the existence of what the forecaster and his equipment are incapable of seeing and have an appropriate back-up plan.   

For all intents and purposes, all that the weatherman can do is predict snowfall depth by assessing the amount of liquid water that would fall and be able to accurately convert this to crystals which would stick together and fall as snow….But the Nature Beings are hard at work on this necessary purification process, not focusing on what is convenient for us but what will benefit us…It’s the Divine Love, which seems strange to the man of today at work here. It brings to pass that which would benefit man and not necessarily that which is most convenient for him.
